An Extremely Beautiful Experience
Dalaman itself is home to the region"s airport and not many people stay here, they are usually just passing through.Ovacik and Hisaronu are perfect examples of the natural beauty this area exudes, with pine clad hills rolling onto perfect sandy beaches. Stay in traditional little fishing villages such as Kalkan, or charming harbour towns like Fethiye.
Dalyan is a firm favourite with nature lovers and keen walkers with its stunning mountain scenery, freshwater lake and wonderful wildlife. Marmaris is perhaps the liveliest resort in the area and whilst it still attracts families has a great and varied nightlife. Nearby Icmeler is much less hectic but close enough to Marmaris to enjoy the best of both worlds.
For a day full of culture, why not take a trip to the ancient ruins at Ephesus or Pamukkale.
While the beaches on holidays in the Dalaman region are perfect for spending the whole day relaxing on, you might want to try something a little more adventurous while you are here. The surrounding countryside is perfect for pony trekking, mountain biking, walking and hiking. Take a boat trip over to the Greek island of Rhodes, deep sea fishing excursion or white water rafting adventure. Jeep safaris will see you hurtling through the mountainous terrain and there"s a never ending supply of water sports on most of the main beaches.
Weather in the Dalaman region can get extremely hot during summer months but is too wet and cool to visit during winter. Early May and late October are the best times to find cheap Dalaman region holidays as the resorts are still a little quiet and the weather not as intense as during the hot summer months.
