Caribee Designer Backpcks

That is not to say that Australians invented backpacking, but, that they are noted for packing a backpack and travelling the world. Possibly, the first backpackers were prehistoric people because of the necessity to move from one settlement to another in order to find food and the need to move all of their belongings.

In the 1960тЂ™s and тЂ˜70тЂ™s backpacking the "hippie trails" became popular, following the Silk Routes through Europe, Africa and Asia.

Traditionally, backpacking has been considered an inexpensive way to travel from one country to the next, whilst experiencing the "real country" and not by visiting the touristsтЂ™ haunts. The backpacker threw essential clothes etc into his backpack and off they went, either by public transport, cheap flights or by hitchhiking.

Considered, by many, as an educational journey, as well as, an adventure, the modern backpacker no longer finds it essential to take just basic essentials on their trips around the globe. New names or neologisms* have sprung up to describe the newer breeds of backpackers who would rather not get right back to nature. The "flash packers", as some are described are thought to be slumming in luxury or discovering cheap accommodation and meals, but, spending liberally and taking their mobile phones and laptops to keep in touch with the outside world.

"Gap packers" form another group of modern backpackers, travelling to several different countries in the gap years, between school, college or university before joining the workforce. Typically, this section of backpacker is young, free and single and sees this form of travelling as an experience of a lifetime.

Looking ,basically, the same over the decades, a modern backpack now pays far more attention to the effects of carrying a large quantity of items over great distances and is designed and created to spread the weight over shoulders, back and pelvis and is made of lightweight materials, to the benefit of the backpacker.

Caribee produces a huge range of backpacks for the traveller, student or business person. Caribee backpacks are suitable for daily use, distance travel and business purposes, some even specially designed to hold a laptop. So, if you are a backpacker, a "flash packer or a gap packer", Caribee are sure to have the backpack to help you on your travels.
